When I was younger I always thought it was about the hand I was dealt until I realized it was never about that but about making the most of every situation. For every time I chose me even if it felt like I was going against everything I was taught or raised to believe. I was really just breaking the mold, like joining the military, and my family and friends did not understand why and when it was time to scale back and re-enter the real world and they did not understand that either. When I graduated college on my own and had to navigate the corporate world as a Latina first-generation and was told to slow down..
