Low Maintenance Back 2 School Prep
4 Low Maintenance Ways I Celebrate “Back-to-School” Season 🍎 📓 ✨
Back-to-school season is the perfect time to reset and get your family excited for a fresh start. I grew up in Texas, where we went all out for every holiday! Everyone’s Mom created Pinterest perfect scenes for any and all occasions. When it came for the first day of school we had mandatory photos and getting your teacher a gift wasn’t just a nice gesture, it was an unspoken rule.
My Low Maintenance “Back-to-School” Celebration
1)Back to School Shopping is always done at Pottery Barn Kids! They have quality backpacks and it’s a one stop shop. I can get everything from the backpack, to the lunchbox, pencil case, water bottle and ice cooler right there. Also, they do monogramming if you choose to go that route.
2)Festive Decor I usually shop between @amazon of course and my new favorite store is @mymindseyepapergoods They have all the cutest decorations!
3) Teachers Gift I love easy but thoughtful gift ideas! Like an aesthetic lanyard with a new water bottle, chapstick, Tylenol, hand sanitizer and nice pens and highlighters! One year I did translucent sticky notes and the ombré brown sharpie pack and his teacher was so stoked over it! Hit up hobby lobby for the pencil tissue paper grab a brown gift sack and you can easily turn it into a ruler for an aesthetic look!
4) Start the day with a big breakfast spread! This year I’m going to do cinnamon rolls w/ red frosting and add a mint leave and pretzel stick to look like an apple w/ scrambled eggs! If I can find letter cookie cutters then I will use them to cut some fruit out and throw it on a white platter Mija and b o o m!

5 Things Millennial Girly
5 Things Y2K Girlies Had Growing Up
Besties,
It’s finally Friday and I can’t get Y2K off my brain this week! I just posted a reel on 5 things Y2K on TikTok @unpolishedtheblog8 check it out! But also what inspired this was, I just caught up on The Valley on BRAVO and the girls hosted a Y2K Girls Night and now I want to do an extended yap session on this weeks post. Let’s dive in shall we?
1) A Tattoo Choker • this was a special purchase from the Galleria Mall in DTX on one of my family shopping trips to the “big city” growing up. The store was ICING and if you don’t know what I’m talking about then let me land the plane! Icing was a more elevated Claire’s back in the day. The choker lived on my neck with and it had to go with every fit! 😆🫶🏽
2) The Inflatable Furniture Epidemic • 😆 I was so obsessed at one point I had convinced my parents I wanted everything in my room to be inflatable. I settled for an inflatable backpack and chair in my Room. The backpack was so tuff tho 🤏🏽✨ yellow with pink feathers inside the front of the backpack. E P I C
3) Black Mia Platform Slides • Obviously I didn’t really have MIAs b u t every girl had these even the dupes! They instantly elevated your lewk and made every fit look super chic! These shoes paired well with capris 🫶🏽
4) Black Long Skirt w/ the slit in the back • anyone else or just me? It always looked so chic when you were going for a dressed up look! It was wore on a weekly basis 😆
5) Butterfly Clips • these are so Y2K! But it’s how you styled them! For me it was always two on each side because I had a short bob and my part was down the middle. Then when I had long hair I would put it in top knot or we would call it a cheerleading bun and then I would clip one to hold the flyaways Or left over hair under the bun 😆
So Besties, let me know what was your 5 Y2K Items?!

5 Things Worth the $$$
5 Things Worth the Money continued from my IG Reel @unpolishedtheblog! Click more details on why my 5 Things Listed are Worth the Money!
5 Things that are Worth The Money is trending on IG right now and I wanted to bring the extended version to the B L O G
1) Tesla
Hear me out it’s worth the investment. The amount of convenience is u n r e a l! I have a history of long commutes and hindsight is 20/20 but I should have bought one sooner. Anyone who has a long commute I promise you this is the best investment. The amount of stress it’s relieved is irreplaceable.
2) Artisan/Gourmet Coffee
Quit buying coffee from Starbs! It’s doesn’t hold the quality it used too! Drink coffee at home more often and save your coins to buy good high quality coffee. My favorite artisan coffee has to be aroma beans once you’ve had an aroma beans you’ll never go back!
3) Jo Malone Candles
Quit buying candles from the Bath&Body Work Sales! Tip to make your candles last twice as long don’t burn the wicks just use the candle warmers.
4) Beis Luggage
even though I’m new to the epic Shay Mitchell Brand and it yes it’s expensive AF she knew what she was doing! She literally thought of every minor inconvenience you experience with other travel luggage. I literally travel stress free and at ease with her carry-on luggage!
-Check out my UnPolished Dish Section and read my Alternative Retail Visit for how I purchased Beis
5) Elemis Products
I’ve been using Elemis for over 8 years now and my esthetician in Germany first introduced me to their products. High Quality Ingredients and their Facial Oil is my fave products.
Besos Girlies!
Have a great weekend 💋

The Easy Summer Accessory Trend I’m Actually Loving: Bag Charms
The Summer 26 Trend I’m actually hyped about, purse charms!
Girles, this under $50 bag charm trend is lowkey elevating every summer fit.
I did all the research on what’s whimsy and cute so you don’t have to Lovies!
First, I pulled out my Louis Vuitton, Speedy25 out of R E T I R E M E N T. Yes, girl retirement!!!
I decided a chain along with a charm was more in my taste for the trend. So I finally settled on a tortoiseshell chain and a leather croissant and espresso kettle purse charm because I’m literally in my brown and beige e r a!
Purse Chain• I went with Etsy for the purse chain because there were so many color options available. I also loved that I could customize my own chain. The artist I went with had so many color shades available and I will be back for another one soon! She even had the opportunity to pick what shade of metal I wanted my clasp to be on the purse. The options I had were gold, silver, rose gold, and metallic black! See names of where I shopped for the accessories further below 👇
Purse Charm • I’ll be honest I made one too many pins from Pinterest while browsing purse charms. Finally after browsing for countless hours (LaughOutLoud) I picked this cute croissant and espresso kettle!
I did purchase from Amazon which was super convenient!

A Matcha Run w/ My Sister in OKC
Matcha Runs in Oklahoma City
Girlies,
I was in OKC visiting my sister and she took me out for Matcha. It was little the shortest date I’ve ever had but we were trying to squeeze as much time in as possible! The coffee shop she took me too was so adorable I absolutely fell in LOVE. The baristas were super sweet and they had a lot of cool coffee essentials for sale. We were yapping about pour over coffee vs. French Press, going out for Coffee vs. Making it at Home. Unfortunately, we didn’t take any cute photos together but I have to say her fit was very chic per usual!
Order:
Lavender Lemonade Matcha
Strawberry Matcha w/ blueberry syrup
It was the cutest spot in OKC for sure!

It’s BEIS Baby
BEIS Luggage
Girly Pops, can we talk about how I found myself at another Warehouse Sale @alternativeretail for THE Ultimate Luggage Brand @BEIS ! UnPolished confession as much I travel I don’t always keep up with sets of luggage. It’s always a collection of pieces I’ve acquired over the years between work and personal 😂
However, I saw BEIS was having a warehouse sale at Alternative Retail and I immediately pulled up there in my Tesla! Like IMMEDIATELY because that was one sale that I did not want to pass up.
After going through the sale for over an hour I did decide to walk away with carry-on luggage because if I literally can’t cram one more thing into my apartment closet!
I fell in love with the Orange Pro Rolling backpack and the travel duffle in beige. I originally wanted a matching set but then when we got there because we came two days late into the sale there were only certain colors available. In total I spent $150 for both pieces! I was shocked and pleased and I can confirm after traveling three times with my BEIS Luggage it would of been worth the full price and the only regret I have is that I didn’t purchase the bigger suitcase. Because I am not a light packer girlie by any means!

I know it’s been a minute since my last post. It’s been a locked in Summer between a professional development course I’m taking and of course The World Cup! Have we talked about how much I L O V E Fútbol?! Are you watching if so let me know in the comments below and drop the team you’re going for so we can get to know each other better!
Coming off of Cabo Verdes E P I C game last night against Argentina! Did you watch it?! W O W That was a beautiful match and I know FIFA deemed that a win by Argentina but we all know that Cabo Verde won that match. The way they had Messi in a chokehold! Chile 😂 I could only hope my teams could play that great against Argentina like that! The skills and efforts of the players I S A L U T E you!
Happy Round 16 Week!
Let’s get into where to go for an epic viewing of Round 16 Watch Parties in SoCal
1) Gaucho Beach in The LBC - Argentinian Restaurant and they have at least 3 jumbo screens with a playground next to the restaurant. Family friendly and honestly if I was going for a match I would bring a lawn chair with a cooler and park the kids at the park while I sat and watched the game from the cafe side. Thank me later!
Picture below is from Gaucho the Cafe side great open area to catch the Matches
2) Hansen Dam Recreation Area - up in the Valley in Pasadena is also running a big fan zone July 2nd through 5th with giant screens and full festivities that’s your closest big one from the LA area.
3) Earvin “Magic” Johnson Park in South LA — it’s hosting a free fan zone specifically for the round of 16 matches, to be more specific I see July 5th open right now they have live viewing, music, food trucks, family activities, and more. It’s free but tickets are required through Eventbrite.

Then yesterday I was trying everything on and changed up my whole fit and ordered a silk bandana last minute. I’m just girl living her best life during the 2026 World Cup Okay!

2026 World Cup Viewing:
Pine Ave in Long Beach City
LA Galaxy is hosting a Viewing Party in The LBC on Pine Ave. 10/10 very family friendly environment.
Go early game started at 6 PM and by 6:20 PM they already closed the gate. To the girlies I would say don’t bring a purse. We showed up later than what we had wanted to and we literally cut the entire line because no one had a bag.
Crowd control was great for the most part. There were quite a few vendors out. We were mainly at the foosball table with Levi watching the game from the back.
Thanks LA Galaxy for hosting a great event!

3 Places to Watch The World Cup in The LBC
2026 World Cup Series• 3 Places we’ve visited to watch The 2026 World Cup in SoCal
Besos Girlies, it’s been a minute! Life has been lifeing and we’ve had a busy season! I’ve missed yapping with you all!
we’ve officially entered World Cup Season! All The World Cup Girlies drop me your Team in the Comments ⬇️
We’re 4 days into The 2026 World Cup and I’m spilling everywhere I’ve been to catch the games so far! 💁🏻♀️⚽️✊🏽
The Art Theater in The LBC. This beloved Theater is serving a free showing of The World Cup on a first come first serve basis! When I went to watch Mexico play against South Africa it was easy to get in and they had their concession stand open. Which is pretty reasonably priced and it offered a family friendly environment. We gave the vibes a 10/10!
Pine Ave in The LBC has been closed down for a pedestrian only FIFA Fan Zone hosted by LA Galaxy until June 27th! Free to the public also on a first come first serve basis. They have a nice grass turf setup with fooseball tables and a giant screen for game viewing. We rated it a 10/10!
The FIFA Fan Fest hosted at The Los Angeles Colosseum is offered tickets as low as $10.00 for the grass zone. They have an amazing line up for each major game and food vendors from around the world and amazing freebies to include the cutest charm bracelets from Bank of America and Coca-Cola cooling neck scarfs! We made $40 for Parking. We had no plan going into LA for parking. We saw a guy on a bike with a sign for parking and he took us around the corner from the colosseum..We paid him $40 seemed legit and we were there in about 10 minutes walking from the car. We were able to take our own snacks and unopened waters inside! I even got in with my Fanny pack that was not C L E A R. I heard bathrooms were clean! The vibe was chill also family friendly! We rated it 10/10 definitely made some Core Memories there!

Locked Up Luxuries @ Erewhon
Are people stealing from Aesthetic Heaven? Is Erewhon where all the Bloggers, Influencers, and Content Creators are going in the after life?
Of all the things…are people stealing from Erewhon??? Girl! Last week Abe and I took a field trip down to closet Erewhon because I needed to try Kris Jenners Mothers Day Smoothie. But it was only available for a short amount of time. So we left The LBC to go to the closest Erewhon. And with these G A S prices I’m glad I have an electric car! First of all walking into Erewhon is like an Aesthetic Heaven. Like, this is where all the influencers, content creators and blogger girlies want to be in the after life.
So, after we ordered our smoothies we were walking around and that’s when I saw their collagen’s and other products behind a glass locked door with a security camera. I immediately was like W H A T?! Who is really trying to sneak off with Cowboy Collagen lAUGHoUTlOUD?!
Exhibit A below ⬇️
A look into Aesthetic Heaven. Do you want into Aesthetic Heaven?

Sequoia Trees
“Mom what if these trees start falling down” My Seven Year Old while we were driving up into Sequoia National Park
Besties,
I’m writing to you all from the car as we drive down the 5 back home from our trip up North. We unexpectedly took a road trip to see the Sequoia Trees today. Abe has been planning to take us to see the trees for a while now but plans always fall through. To my surprise the trees are up in the mountains. Call me uneducated but as a Texas Native, I know very little about these giant trees. Comical I know Girl!!!
So as we’re entering the national park I was like “oh I really didn’t think this through. I thought we were just pulling up and walking into the woods. No Mija! It’s a whole T R I P. It did use a lot of battery power on the Tesla to go up but coming down it didn’t cost us any battery power going back down hill thankfully.
How can I describe the trees? It has to be one of the most beautiful creations I’ve ever witnessed.
To be honest we spent an hour going up hill and our intentions were to see The Sherman Oak and then when we got close we couldn’t find the exact location. We had no GPS or connectivity in the woods. We were relying on the map for the most part. Then of course someone had to go to the bathroom! So we just picked a random spot Abe pulled over dropped us off to go to the bathrooms. Because there’s no parking lots he had to find a spot off the trail to pull over and park the hiked down to where we were. In case you’re not from California or Well Traveled there’s not parking lots up there folks. There are a few parking spots that are reserved close to the trails for Handicap only. So we hiked for about 20 minutes.
It took us an hour to get back down and there was a ferocious mini van riding on our tail for the majority of the trip down.
Then Levi announces “what if one of these trees just fall on us while we were driving mom” so that was a perfect way to end the T R I P.
until next week Besties, Besos from the Sequoia National Park XoXo

Girl2Girl: Summer Trends
Get in we’re going over everything that’s on trend for summer 😝
Get in, let’s go over everything I’m diving into summer with trends!
What S U M M E R Trends are you getting into? LMK in the comments ⬇️
Normally, I’m not big on summer trends because I like timeless pieces. But with some of these reoccurring trends coming back into style I H A V E to! When I saw Capris were making a comeback I weeped literally. I had my mom pull out all my old photos of me in Capris. Because the way I worked a Capri from age 11-18!!! Any other girls? Ok no..let’s move on then 😂 Thong Sandals absolutely and I’ve been eyeing this jelly Melissa pair at Anthropologie for a while now. I’m not sure if I’m sold on jellies but will for sure be picking up a leather kitten heel! Last, purse charms because why not?!? Also, I’m happy to announce I’m pulling my Speedy25 out of retirement this summer and I shared a collage inspo from Pinterest for my summer purse charms!
P.S. I’m looking for Capris for all size girlies because some of us have bigger calves and we want to be Capris too!

10 O’Clock Reservations at Matsuhisa in Beverly and Kim Kardashians Range Rover
Besties,
Let me bring you full disclosure as I am writing you all this post. I currently have Maid of Honour playing listening to CHEETAH PRINT.
T H I S ALBUM is TEA and I think my favorite track right now is Which One!
Let’s get back to the Dinner 10 O’Clock Dinner Reservations at Matsuhisa in Beverly Hills. So my girlfriend and I made dinner reservations last week when we were in 90210 to see Chelsea Handler. So Matsuhisa is a famous a restaurant opened by Chef Nobu Matsuhisa. It’s known for its infusion of Japanese and Peruvian Dishes.
When we were in the Mile High City their Denver location was on my Bucketlist forever.
It was elegant, intimate and I mean very intimate spot. If you’re new just know you’re going to pay for food here and it is e x t r e m e ly note worthy.
I let my 940 Bestie do all the ordering because I wasn’t sure what to order other than a Lychee Martini
What we Ordered:
Lychee Martini
Cucumber Sunomono
Spicy Salmon Roll
Yellow Tail Jalapeño
Should I Spill Who We Ran Into while we were out?

Handler’s Humor Hits Beverly Hills•Netflix is a Joke Opening Night
A Girls Night Out in Beverly Hills. Tickets to Handlers Humor & 10 o’clock Dinner Reservations.
Besties, as most of you know if you follow me on the gram (@unpolishedtheblog • shameless plug) I was graces my presence in the 90210 last week. I’ll be they’re really lucky I was willing to make an appearance at Saban Theatre on a Wednesday night porque Mija have you see these gas prices in California?!? That was an hour commute one way!
So, Wednesday morning as we were all running around our apartment to make our mad dash out the door Abe was like do you want to see Chelsea Handlers Comedy Special in Hollywood tonight. I was mid gulp of my wellness shot (iykyk) and was like skurrr W H A T?! I immediately said yes and called my 940 Bestie to see if she was available for a GNO. The only catch was I had to get tickets from “Will Call”
It wasn’t until I was on my lunch break that I realized we weren’t going into Hollywood we were actually going into Beverly Hills. That was a first for me and it definitely lived up to everything I envisioned it to be.
The Saban Theatre is very old Hollywood! I don’t think we could really appreciate its beauty as there was such a gaggle of people outside the theatre waiting to get in. I had to pick up our tickets at Will Call by the way im just a girl from TX and ive never heard of “Will Call” so you can imagine how much i over thought the whole “pick up your tickets from Will Call Situation” also can you tell I’m so in the throes of my mom routine I don’t go out much these days. People were literally approaching us every five minutes to ask random questions about getting into the show. I was like do I look like I’m from here 😂
Chelsea Handlers Show was EPIC and she truly is my the voice inside my head. (Sorry not Sorry) we laughed hysterically from the balcony and she was so far from me even with my glasses she looked blurry. lol
Then we ended the night with our 10 o’clock dinner reservations.
That’s all for tonight though Besties! Check back tomorrow for PartII of this post.

Voyage Denver Magazine Interview
Local Stories Interview w/ Voyage Denver Magazine
So, I have actually never shared this on the BLOG which is ironic because I thought when I originally launched the BLOG it would have been the first post I made but it never made the cut. So, while I was in the midst of launching the BLOG, Voyage Denver Magazine had reached out to me for the first time. As a microblogger I’ve been in contact with other local magazines in Denver but I had never had anyone request an interview. I figured it would be opportunity to use as a launching pad for the BLOG. I had no idea what the questions would be but it turned out I ended up dishing about a lot of personal moments for me. In your 30s you really show up as all these titles and roles you’ve developed into. It’s not that often you have the opportunity to reflect on how you got there. I also had the opportunity to work with one of the Mile High Cities best photographers for a photoshoot. STALK the link below for the interview.

Voyage Magazine Interview
The BLOG was made its second splash on Voyage Denver Magazine. Click for more details on my second interview for UnPolished.
Writing to you all to make a belated announcement that the B L O G made its second magazine feature in Voyage Denver Magazine!!! It was an incredible way to Celebrate The BLOG turning one on 4/20! The interview was conducted while we were in the middle of moving and pure chaos was insured on us. However, it always takes these things awhile to release. If you’re new here this isn’t UnPolished’s first magazine feature. 30 days prior to
L A U N C H she was featured in Voyage Denver. Which I realize now I haven’t officially talked about that interview yet here on the BLOG. So there will be a sister post after this one to discuss more BTS of that one! If you haven’t read it yet I’ll provide the link below!
But, It was a great way to put a close on our Denver Chapter as a family. TBH when I was writing out the drafts to launch this thing, I didn’t know it would be taking me to opportunities like this with my writing. Thank you to everyone who has been here with me on this journey! I look forward to see what’s in store for the rest of the year.

Checked into The Mar Monte Hotel
Postcard from Santa Barbara • it’s all palm trees, sunshine and expensive vibes here. Dishing about our stay at The Mar Monte Hotel
Writing to you lovers while lounging by the pool and the Sun is out @ The Mar Monte Hotel in Santa Barbara is from The UnBound Collection by Hyatt. And Mija, it is N I O C E! First of all I have friends in the Hospitality Industry and they all tell me Hyatt is TEA.
It’s a S T U N N I N G Resort across from the SB Beach with a three dining options available one to include on the beach with sexy views. We had the pleasure of spending our Spring Break there. We had breakfast at Costa and if you’re looking for a good spot make your way to COSTA. Cafe Lido was so charming and offers a bar while seating outside by the pool.
What we Ordered:
•Greek Powered Yoga (very filling)
•Kale&Chickpea Hash (7/10)
•Latte Dart Coffee w/ Oat (10/10)
The was a trip for some R&R and that’s exactly what we did. Lounged by the pool and hit up the hot tub. I was absolutely obsessed with the Spanish architecture of the hotel.
SB is definitely the move across PCH. I’m adding to my vision board for list of places to retire.

ALEXA Turn Up “Spice Up Your Life”
Happy Birthday to the BLOG! My baby turned O N E today and I could not be more excited and proud! First of all, thank you to everyone who has showed up here on the BLOG. For every reader, subscriber, follower on my socials and friends who have passed out my business cards. Forever grateful for you all!
From writing on my MACBOOK PRO in the suburbs of The Mile High City to writing on the beach in front of our Beach Club APT in The LBC it’s been one crazy year! As I blow out the c a n d l e on my BLOGs first birthday let’s dish what the first year of launching was actually like 🤨😮💨🥹…
1) WE STARTED W/ NOTHING: I announced the blog launch before I had anything prepped. I had the Logo Design, and platform I knew I wanted to use but never absolutely nothing about web design. My coding skills died off with MySpace unfortunately 😂. My heart was in it but my head was still spinning wheels on if I can figure it out or should I outsource. Needless to say, I figured it out.
2) FRAUD ALERT: I felt like the biggest fraud in the beginning because as I was getting contacted for collabs I kept mentioning I was launching my BLOG Soon but hadn’t ironed out the big details.
3) ARE WE QUITTERS: There were so many times last spring as I was pushing my announcements through socials that I wanted to quit. Trying to nail down Web Design in between a long commutes, a part time career that was announcing it’s doing a restructure, raising a family, while in my managerial era I was starting to think I had put too much on my plate. I’m not a quitter though, my Dad is Mexican what do I look like quitting anything in life?! He raised me better 😂 If I say I’m going to do something I’m going to follow through. No regrets looking back either! Mija, we did it 😝🎂✨
4) STAYING CONSISTENT: Keep It Simple Mija! KISM, I kept everything lowkey for content on every post and made sure to schedule out at least one hour a week for writing. I found a platform that I didn’t need to have a lesson on YT University in order to design my blog. I let myself make mistakes and it took the pressure off all the way which allowed me to stay consistent.
5) MY FAVE BLOG POST: UnPolished Juice was fun to write as it brought up so many stories from my past but probably has the least amount of views but I am still proud of it! Haha
Happy Birthday UnPolished 🎂💚✨
