Dino Ridge, Details.

Labor Day Weekend we visited the Dino Ridge Trail. It had been on our Denver Bucket List for a while. What you need to know up front? We walked the trail but I would recommend to sign up for the trolley guided tour. We were all very curious to know what the tour guide had to say lol. I found out after it was said and done that on your walking/bike self tour you can download the tour guide for $8 would have been nice to know ahead of time. Honestly, we did the trip on a whim and we wanted to be there on our own time so we winged the entire trip as we do most trips these days. As Levi is getting older doing hikes are more challenging to keep him motivated and entertained. This was a 2 mile hike up hill so Levi’s battery as I like to call it was at 10% after we were finished because of the incline and 95 degree Denver Sun beating down on us. So keep that in mind when you go. Parking is free too!

Traveling from out of S T A T E?

I recommend to check in with the cool visitors center to sign up for the trolley guided tour ride. Their business hours are from 9-5 PM daily. Tours run from about 10-4 PM I believe. There is estimated to be over 200 fossils in the outdoor museum. You can hike the trail it’s fairly easy and the fossils are visible. It’s unfortunate because we read over the years some of have been stolen but most of them are still preserved there on site. Tours run every 20-30 minutes it’s not a big tourist attraction which is how we were able to wing the trip and still feel successful. Make sure you bring water because hydration is key while visiting Denver!
